Tras tres meses de despliegue en Afganistán el IX (Bomber) Squadron de la RAF fue relevado por Number II (Army Cooperation) Squadron. Los Tornado GR4 del IX (B) Squadron, han estado tres meses operando desde Kandahar (KAF), volando 1.600 horas y con 450 aviones lanzados. Se realizaron cerca de 40 misiones GCAS.
El II (Army Cooperation) Squadron, también con base en RAF Marham y la unidad mas antigua del mundo, continuará la labor en Kandahar hasta su relevo en Julio.

After three months providing 24/7 close air support and reconnaissance to coalition forces in Afghanistan, the RAF's IX (Bomber) Squadron handed over their duties to Number II (Army Cooperation) Squadron yesterday, Tuesday 13 April 2010.
Tornado GR4 For the past three months IX (B) Squadron, normally based at RAF Marham in Norfolk, have been operating their Tornado GR4s from Kandahar Airfield (KAF) in Afghanistan flying 1.600 hours and with 450 aircraft launched, with nearly 40 Ground Close Air Support (GCAS) missions.
II (Army Cooperation) Squadron, also based at RAF Marham and the oldest fixed wing squadron in the world, will continue operations in KAF until relieved in July this year.
